UMD Bulldog "Champ" Meets "The Cat in the Hat"
March 3rd Event to Raise Funds for Books for Local Children


The UMD Alumni Association invites everyone (adults, children and families) to join Duluth Police Chief Scott Lyons and UMD alumni board members at Barnes & Noble Bookstore on Saturday, March 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. to help put books in the hands of local children.

A discount of 10% will be given on the purchase of any children's book to be to be left in the store and donated to local schools and community centers. In addition, Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of all March 3rd book sales to the Literacy Initiative for the purchase of more books for area children.

Duluth Police Chief Scott Lyons will be the "Celebrity Reader" from 2 to 3 p.m, reading from the stories of Dr Seuss and other children's authors.

The public is invited to bring their favorite young reader to this event.
