UMD To Present Panel
"Cultural and Global Perspectives On Terrorism"
Set for November 28


The first in a series of UMD programs focused on cultural and global understanding will be a panel discussion titled "Cultural and Global Perspectives on Terrorism" set for November 28 from 12 - 1 p.m. in the UMD Kirby Student Center Ballroom (3rd floor).

The topic of terrorism will be discussed by a panel of UMD faculty and area experts. Panelists will make five-minute commentaries leaving time for participant questions and dialogue.

Alexis Pogorelskin, Associate Professor and Head, UMD History Department "Russia and the Political Rage"
Richard Lichty, Professor, UMD School of Business and Economics "Corporate Globalization"
Thomas Peacock, Professor, UMD Department of Education "Native Americans and National Politics"
Carolina Hernandez, Area Expert "Politics, Culture, and Terrorism: Perspectives from Columbia"
Domien Cronin, Area Expert "Ireland and Religion"
Paul Deputy, Dean, College of Education and Human Service Professions moderator

The event is sponsored by the UMD Office of the Chancellor, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Administration, offices of academic deans, and the Kirby Student Center.
