UMD will hold its ninth annual "Nightwalk for Campus Safety" Monday evening, April 29 from 9 to 10 p.m. The purpose of the "Nightwalk" is for UMD administrators, faculty, staff, students, and any interested parties to walk the campus together looking for any potential safety issues or hazards.
Campus
safety recommendation forms will be available that evening and will be collected
after the walk. Each participant will be asked to complete a recommendation form
listing any areas of possible safety improvement. Comments will be used by the
UMD Finance and Operations Department and the UMD Safety, Health and Emergency
Preparedness Advisory Committee in planning campus improvements. Recommendations
may also be sent to:
UMD Office of Finance and Operations
500 Darland Administration
Building
1049 University Drive
Duluth, MN 55812
Anyone interested in joining the walk should meet at the UMD Kirby Student Center Information Desk at 9 p.m. Everyone is asked to wear clothing suitable for walking outside, and to bring a flashlight.
