by UMD Alumni Association

"Celebrate with Reading" Events set at Barnes & Noble
Duluth Police Chief Roger Waller Among Reading Celebrities
Also "Champ" and "Clifford"
The UMD Alumni Association will sponsor "Celebrate Reading", a
week long bookdrive running Sunday, March 2 through Saturday, March 8 at Barnes
& Noble Bookstore. During the week, all Kindergarten through 5th grade
books purchased for donation at Barnes & Noble will receive a 10% discount.
UMD's goal is to collect 250 books to support the Reading Partner Program
at Duluth's Stowe Elementary School.
Special programs will include:
All are free and open to the public.
4 p.m. Sunday, March 2 (at Barnes & Noble)
Duluth Denfeld High School Theatre Students will perform theatrical skits
from popular children's books
11 a.m. Saturday, March 8 (at Barnes & Noble)
"Story Time" featuring Duluth Police Chief Roger Waller
and Stowe School Principal Terry Cottingham reading children's story favorites
Also UMD's mascot "Champ" and "Clifford the Big Red Dog"
will be on hand to greet everyone.
Events are sponsored by the UMD Alumni Association, UMD Darland Connection and Barnes & Noble Booksellers.
