UMD To Offer Health Care Management Program
To Begin Fall 2005


The Labovitz School of Business and Economics Program Will Work with the School of Medicine, Duluth

Dean Kjell R. Knudsen of the UMD Labovitz School of Business and Economics announced today that the School will be offering a Health Care Management Program starting the fall of 2005.

The program has the support of the UMD administration as well as the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center and the School of Medicine, Duluth. The program also has the support of the health care industry in the region.

Both undergraduate and graduate students will be able to take courses in health care management including health care policy and health economics. The Labovitz School is in the process of hiring a faculty member who will be the program director and who will teach health care policy and health economics. The School expects the person to join its faculty this September.

The UMD Labovitz School of Business and Economics is accredited at both the undergraduate and graduate level by the world's leading accreditation agency for business and management programs, AACSB- International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

The Labovitz School offers bachelors degrees in accounting and business administration and MBA programs both in Duluth and Rochester.
