UMD Professor Elected Director
of American Society for Engineering Management,
North Central Region
David Wyrick, Professor and Head of the UMD Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, has been elected Director of the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM) for the North Central Region.
Professor Wyrick's work focuses on transportation asset management, process improvement, and the effective management of technology. He is recognized for his work on integrating student study abroad programs into the engineering curriculum. Professor Wyrick is a licensed professional engineer in Minnesota.
Professor Wyrick is a Fellow member of ASEM and is a contributing editor with Engineering Management Journal. He has been a member of ASEM since 1989. He is also a member of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), American Society Of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Institute of International Education (IIE) and Tau Beta Pi - the Engineering Honor Society.
The ASEM is the recognized national organization for improving the management, integration and innovation of knowledge workers in technology driven organizations.
