UMD Cancels Study in Mexico Programs for 2009

University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) short-term study abroad programs in Mexico scheduled for 2009 are cancelled until further notice. These programs are: Spanish Language and Culture, Guanajuato, Mexico and Study in Mexico--Intensive Fieldwork (various locations). Both programs were scheduled for May. Currently UMD has no students in UMD Study Abroad programs in Mexico.

Also note:

As a safety precaution, the University of Minnesota System Education Abroad Suspension Committee (EASC), in consultation with the University's emergency preparedness team, has canceled all current and planned education abroad programs in Mexico until further notice. The University is advising against all University travel to Mexico until further notice. All faculty, staff and students are advised to cancel all nonessential planned travel to Mexico.
