UMD Students to Rally at "Support the U Day"

Rally and send-off for University of Minnesota Duluth students as they leave to advocate at the State Capitol for higher education funding.

University of Minnesota Duluth students will depart Kirby Bus Hub with a send-off from Chancellor Lendley (Lynn) Black and Vice Chancellor Greg Fox to attend Support the U Day and speak to the importance of higher education funding for the state of Minnesota.

Support the U Day is the largest statewide, student lobbying day devoted to advocacy on higher education issues. The Student Legislative Coalition is organizing University of Minnesota Duluth students to attend Support the U Day at the State Capitol to ensure that students have a voice at this critical time in the state budget process. Students will be lobbying on a number of issues, including tuition costs, bonding requests and state grant availability. Students will be bringing the message to our legislators that the quality of education needs to be maintained without sacrificing higher education affordability and accessibility.

This is an annual event, put on by students to inform the State Legislature about issues concerning University of Minnesota students.
