University of Minnesota Graduates Duluth Pharmacy and Medical School Students

The University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy and Medical School Duluth graduated more than 100 students from the Duluth campus in May commencement ceremonies. The Duluth Campus of the U of M College of Pharmacy had 53 PharmD and one PhD student graduate during a commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 12, 2013 in St. Paul. The first student with a Pharmacy Doctorate/ Master of Business Administration dual degree also graduated.

The College of Pharmacy in Duluth is one of five academic departments within the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. The department emphasizes providing pharmaceutical care in rural and tribal communities. It admits 60 students to the program annually. The U of M Medical School Duluth graduated 54 students at a commencement ceremony on Friday, May 3 in Minneapolis.

The Medical School's Duluth campus focuses on educating doctors who will serve rural and Native American communities. In fact, in 2010, Duluth campus, was named #1 in the country in percentage of M.D.s who practice in rural areas and #3 in the nation in graduating American Indian physicians.
