Academic Support, Tutoring, & Engagement

Supportive Services Program

The Supportive Services Program (SSP) continually serves the UMD community through classes, workshops, academic advising, Teaching Assistant opportunities, and the UMD Tutoring Center.

UMD Tutoring Center

Free walk-in tutoring is offered by undergraduate tutors to all UMD students. Appointments are not necessary, and students do not need to sign in.

UMD Writers' Workshop

The Writers’ Workshop offers free, one-to-one sessions to all writers on campus--undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty and staff. Workshop consultants are graduate students or faculty members who work with writers on any project, at any stage in the writing process, in any discipline.
