Tenure-Track Faculty Position Experimental Physics

The Department of Physics at the University of Minnesota Duluth invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in experimental AMO, condensed matter, or biophysics. The start date is August 26, 2013.

A Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field from a regionally accedited university, research experience in experimental physics, and demonstrated potential to teach to a diverse group of students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including ability in written communication are required. Some postdoctoral research experience in these same areas and college-level teaching experience in physics beyond conventional TA duties are desired.

We seek candidates who can teach effectively at all levels, including core and elective physics courses. Recruitment and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students in research is expected, as is success in obtaining external funding. Salary is competitive; start-up funds are available.

Apply online and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent directly to Ms. Jeanne Peterson, UMD Physics Dept., 1023 University Dr., Duluth, MN 55812 (umdphys@d.umn.edu).

Review of completed applications begins December 12, 2012.
