UMD
has no specific Pre-Law major. However, the Public Policy concentration
of the Political Science major does have a "Law and Policy"
track that offers an opportunity to focus your studies in law-related
courses.
You should know that law schools do not expect or even encourage
students to major in "Pre-Law" or any other specific preparatory
area of study. The first rule here is to study what most interests
you.
That said, taking a number of law-related courses at the undergraduate
level is not a bad way to begin to think about whether you are interested
in a career in the law. Below is a list of law-related courses at

Science Major's Public Policy Concentration:

Meet all other requirements for the Public Policy Concentration.

2. You must take either Pol 3150 (American Constitutional
Law I) or Pol 3151 (American Constitutional Law II).
3. Take two other courses from those among those listed
above. (Or, you may also take two other approved courses, in
consultation with your advisor and by approval of the policy
studies coordinator).
