SAFETY ALERT Suspicious Person


On Monday, June 27, 2011, University Police received a report of a suspicious person in the Solon Campus Center. Two female students were contacted by a male and his actions were considered to be suspicious. The female students were not harmed or threatened in any way.

University Police investigated the report and quickly identified the suspicious person as: Francois James Bee Madison, aka Phoebus Phaeton Apollo. University Police also learned that Madison is currently a registered sex offender in Minnesota. Due to the suspicious nature of the incident and Madison's status as a sex offender, University Police issued a trespass warning to Madison. The trespass notice bans Madison from all UMD property for the period of one year.

Madison is described as:

1) a black male, 31 years old.
2) 5' 4" in height, approx. 150 lbs.
3) black hair and brown eyes.
