UMD POLICE DEPARTMENT CRIME ALERT

April 1, 2016

The UMD Police Department is investigating a reported theft/purse snatching.  The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 PM on April 1st in the first floor of Heller Hall, near the Kirby Student Center entrance.  The suspect approached the victim from behind and grabbed her purse.  The suspect then fled the area towards the Darland Administration Bldg..  No weapons, threats or physical violence were involved in this incident.

We ask anyone with information regarding this incident to contact us by calling 911.

We also offer these suggestions to aid in your personal safety.

Be aware of your surroundings. Report any suspicious activity or persons on campus by calling 911 immediately, any time of the day or night.
