Luke Merrill

My Name's Luke Merrill and I am from Cambridge-Isanti High school. I graduated in 2010 and came to UMD with 50 transfer credits (PSEO). I had struggled with my choice of major(s) up until this semester and I am finally happy with where I am at. I am now a Psycholgy & Economics Double major with a minor in Business administration. I will be graduating the spring semester of 2014. I'm not sure exactly what I want to do with these degrees after my schooling, but I know that its a good fit for me right now and I feel content with the decisions I have made. With all the thoughts and switching of majors that I have had to do, I have learned a lot about not only the procedures here at UMD, but about myself. I look forward to helping whoever needs any kind of help with the college transition, class choices, or any other general questions!

Kelsey Yoki

"Hello there! I'm  Kelsey Yoki and I am senior at UMD with a Psychology major - and I'm graduating after fall semester! My biggest passions in life include health, fitness and nutrition, which I hope to fulfill in a career as a health & wellness coach! I've always had a strong desire to help people, especially when a little bit of change is involved! I'm planning on looking into certifications and maintaining a healthy living blog after I graduate. In the future, I might plan on getting my Master's - but I like to take life as it comes and go with the flow!
I'm looking forward to meet anyone who needs help with registration, class choices and overall questions about UMD and the psychology department!"

Sam Peterson

Hi my name is Sam Peterson. This is my senior year and I am double majoring in Psychology and Criminology. I'm currently interning with probation, which I hope to get into after I graduate, but long-term I hope to work with mentally ill offenders someday. I took PSEO courses in high school and transferred in 40 credits when I began freshman year so I do have some experience with transferring credits. I enjoy working with people and look forward to seeing you during my advising hours!

Meghan Kirchgasler

Molly Nevanen

My name is Molly Nevanen and I am a senior at UMD. I am majoring in Psychology and plan on going to Grad School for School Counseling after graduation.

I love learning about children, the brain and why we do the things we do.

I have done many volunteer and school opportunities so I would love to help anyone that wants to be involved with that!

I look forward to helping with any questions that you have!

Laura Hauglid

Hi everyone! My name is Laura Hauglid and this is my junior year at UMD. I started out with a major in Psychology and a minor in Communications, but recently switched to a double major in Psychology and Criminology. Criminals have always been an interest of mine due to growing up with a father who was a homicide detective. I hope to one day obtain a job in the field of forensic psychology. Outside of school, I am one of the head coaches of the Duluth Marshall Dance Team. I’ve been involved in dance ever since I can remember, so it’s great to be able to give back by coaching. I look forward to helping all of you out as best as I can, don’t be afraid to stop by and ask questions!

Rachel Christians

Hello everyone!  My name is Rachel Christians.  I am currently studying Psychology as a junior and loving it! Some of my favorite classes so far include Marriages and Families, Social Psychology, and Gender in Society.  I am really interested in relationships and family dynamics.  I hope to go to graduate school, but am still figuring out what exactly I would like to do.  I find education to be what you make it.  It could be a degree for some or a life journey for others.  I keep myself busy with school, work, and being outside.  I love to assist others in any way I can.  If you have any questions, concerns, or a story you need to tell don’t be afraid to stop by!
