Shelby Theisen

Hey there! My name is Shelby Theisen! I am a senior here at UMD studying Psychology with a minor in cognitive science. I have found that I have a passion for helping people, and that I love kids. I am still trying to figure out what to do after graduation. I want to be nervous and scared, but sometimes not knowing leads you to great opportunities that you never thought of! So my advice to you is: Do not be afraid of the unknown because something great can come along that you least expected. Us as peer advisors are always here to help! :) Do not hesitate to stop by!

Laura Hauglid

Hi everyone! My name is Laura Hauglid and this is my junior year at UMD. I started out with a major in Psychology and a minor in Communications, but recently switched to a double major in Psychology and Criminology. Criminals have always been an interest of mine due to growing up with a father who was a homicide detective. I hope to one day obtain a job in the field of forensic psychology. Outside of school, I am one of the head coaches of the Duluth Marshall Dance Team. I’ve been involved in dance ever since I can remember, so it’s great to be able to give back by coaching. I look forward to helping all of you out as best as I can, don’t be afraid to stop by and ask questions!

Rachel Christians

Hello everyone!  My name is Rachel Christians.  I am currently studying Psychology as a junior and loving it! Some of my favorite classes so far include Marriages and Families, Social Psychology, and Gender in Society.  I am really interested in relationships and family dynamics.  I hope to go to graduate school, but am still figuring out what exactly I would like to do.  I find education to be what you make it.  It could be a degree for some or a life journey for others.  I keep myself busy with school, work, and being outside.  I love to assist others in any way I can.  If you have any questions, concerns, or a story you need to tell don’t be afraid to stop by!
