If you have attended UMD before and are interested in enrolling in the Online Psychology Program you need to follow the below steps.

NOTE:  The Online Psychology Program ONLY begins during FALL semesters.  Therefore, you are only eligible for admission during the fall semester.

Step 1:

Verify you are eligible and meet the admission requirements

Note:  After submitting your materials and transcripts eligibility will be verified

To be eligible for the Online Psychology Program you need to meet the following requirements:

· Have a minimum 2.5 GPA

· Have completed your Associate of Arts Degree, Minnesota Transfer Curriculum, or the UMD Liberal Education Requirements.

· Have met the High School Preparation Admission Requirements

· MATHEMATICS - Three years consisting of two years of algebra, one of which must be intermediate or advanced algebra, and one year of geometry.

· WORLD LANGUAGE - Two years of a single second language.

 

Step 2:

Determine what form you need to complete in order to activate in the Online Psychology Program

When you last attended UMD were you pursuing a major at UMD in CLA, LSBE, SCSE, or SFA:

Then you need to complete a CHANGE of COLLEGE FORM. 

When you last attended UMD were you pursuing a major within CEHSP, but it wasn’t Online Psychology:

Then you would need to complete a CHANGE of MAJOR FORM.  

When you last attended UMD were you pursuing the Online Psychology major, but then took some time off and since then have gone inactive:

Then you would need to complete a RE-ENROLLMENT FORM.

 

Step 3:

 

Complete the appropriate paperwork and submit it for processing

After you have completed the appropriate form you need to submit it to the CEHSP Advising and Academic Services office.

Step 4:

Your academic record will be reviewed for eligibility

Your form will be then given to an academic advisor to review your APAS Report and Transcript for eligibility. 

**Note:  If you have taken coursework at other colleges or universities since attending UMD you need to submit an official transcript from each to be sent to the UMD Office of Admissions. ALL new coursework would need to reflect on your record until the formal review can be completed.

 

Step 5:

You will be notified via phone of your admission decision

The process of becoming activated as an online psychology major can take a total of 1-2 weeks.  Since there are so many steps along the way it is important to be patient.
