
Getting Started
As a transfer student, you have the opportunity to go through the 'Getting Started' process for the UMD online psychology major completely online. By following the steps below, you will learn how to apply for admission to UMD, become oriented, advised, registered, and become familiar with our course management system, Moodle, completely online.
If you meet the admission and transfer requirements for the online psychology major with UMD and the Arrowhead University Consortium, please begin the 'Getting Started' process by reading through a brief overview for all 5 steps and then clicking on the Step 1 link:

Step 1:
Admission to UMD and Applying for Financial Aid
This step includes information on becoming a UMD student, filling out the UMD admission application, considering financial aid and pursuing the Online Psychology Major.

Step 2: Pre-Advisement Orientation
This step includes information pertaining to general policies and procedures at UMD. If you are admitted to UMD, you will receive an acceptance letter in the mail along with information pertaining to the advisement & registration reply process.
Note: you will not be able to move forward with Step 2 until you are admitted to UMD and have received an acceptance letter in the mail.
Step 3: Account Initiation
This step includes information pertaining to account initiation. You will learn how to initiate your account so that you can access your new UMD email account and other important UMD resources.
Step 4: Moodle Computer Configuration
After you initiate your account, you will need to configure your computer for Moodle, our course management system. This step will walk you through the configuration process so that you are familiar and prepared with our course management system before the semester starts.
Step 5: Log-in and Start UMD Online Transfer Orientation
After you initiate your account and configure your computer for Moodle, you will learn more about UMD, work one-on-one with an experienced psychology advisor while registering for your Fall Semester courses. After completing this step, you will be prepared to pursue the online psychology major!
