WEB-BASED INI COURSE Section 200, 3 Credit Hours

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the individualized instruction online version of Child and Adolescent Psychology. This course is self-paced to the extent that there are no required class sessions or lectures but it does contain completion dates for assignments and exams. The textbook will be your main source of information. It was chosen for its clear presentation of materials, the available study guide, and a web site with more study information.

Child and Adolescent Psychology is an important topic. Do not underestimate the value you will receive from giving this course your time. It is always a dilemma to be a student who needs a "grade" and "credit" from a course as a conflicting issue to having the time to learn as much as possible from the course. I have attempted to make earning your grade as clear as possible with reasonable objectives and expectations for a 3000 level course. However, please feel free to go beyond the required material for your own benefit. As you read througth the text and websites, keep thinking about your own childhood, children you know, and your present or future children. What can you learn and understand about child and adolescent psychology to help you can make a positive difference in their lives and the lives of those that follow?
