The undergraduate minor in psychology provides students with a basic survey of psychological theories, content areas and methodology.

Admission requirements:  2.5 GPA

Minor Requirements

              

At least 8 credits of the minor must be completed in residence at UMD.

Psychology minor courses:

Required courses

PSY 1003 - General Psychology, LE CAT6 (4 cr)
PSY 2020 - Intro to Statistical & Research Methods (3) or

          

Students may substitute the following courses for PSY 2020:

SOC 2155 - Introduction to Research Methods and Analysi (4)
ECON 2030 -Applied Statistics for Business and Economics
STAT 2411- Statistical Methods (3)
ESAT 4700- Statistical and Research Methods in Exeercise Science (4)

                       and other comparable courses as approved by the department

NOTEPSY 3020 may be substituted for PSY 2020, but PSY 2020 may not be substituted for PSY 3020

The undergraduate minor in psychology provides students with a basic survey of psychological theories and findings and a required emphasis on life span developmental processes.

Psy electives 2xxx or higher (10 credits)

At least 8 credits of the minor must be completed in residence at UMD.
