Karen L. (Skoglund) Meyer and Thomas A. Meyer, ’63, South Pasadena, Fla., welcomed their first great-grandchild, Mya Lynne Allison.

Rodney G. Schofield, Buena Vista, Colo., is vice president and organizational consultant for Infinite Excellence. Rod co-leads a leadership training program for emerging Palestinian leaders in Israel/Palestine and serves as a consultant to the school system of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jordan and the Holy Land.

Carl Gawboy, Duluth, Minn. has published Ancient Earth and the First Ancestors: A Cultural and Geological Journey with co-author Ron Morton.

Clark C. Peterson, Hinckley, Minn., is a professional announcer and writer. Clark was one of the speakers for the Twin Cities September 11th tenth anniversary program. Being a survivor of the Oklahoma City bombing, he spoke about “the two worst domestic terrorist attacks in our history.”

Jane C. (Elder) Naughtin, Plymouth, Minn., has been named one of the Top Women in Finance by Finance & Commerce, Inc. in Minneapolis.

Gary L. Huusko, Eagan, Minn., works as a patent attorney with Severson, Sheldon, Dougherty & Molenda, P.A. in Apple Valley. Gary was recently appointed to the District 196 School Board.

Lawrence A. Johnson, Duluth, Minn., is currently a senior information systems auditor for ALLETE.

Theresa G. (Murray) Hughes, Saint Paul, Minn., was named an Unsung Legal Hero by Minnesota Lawyer. This award honors outstanding efforts of those making notable contributions to the legal profession throughout Minnesota.

Scott W. Marshall and Darlene M. Spongberg-Marshall ’84, live in Duluth, Minn., where Scott works as owner and treasurer of Marshall Hardware, Inc.

Melissa A. Fatchett, Edina, Minn., works as a licensing compliance specialist and healthcare paralegal for Medtronic.

Kara S. (Wikstrom) Skowera, Lake Havasu City, Ariz., is a school psychologist for the Lake Havasu Unified School District.

David W. Downing, Saint Paul, Minn., is a financial associate with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. He is also enjoying a two-year stint as an Honorary Commander with the 934th Airlift Wing, learning more about the work of the men and women of the Air Force Reserve’s “Flying Vikings.”

Timothy R. Zezulka, Wilmington, Del., a 25-year hotel veteran, is currently the general manager of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Wilmington.

Christopher Dahlberg, Duluth, Minn., a St. Louis County Commissioner, was recently appointed to the Duluth Seaway Port Authority.

Margaret A. Anderson, ME ’87, Duluth, Minn., has retired from her position as a teacher and has started a non-profit called “Circle of Hope” which provides breast cancer treatment payments to clients in need.

Randy W. Gilbert, Wayzata, Minn., is a director at Assurance Consulting, LLC.

Linda L. Grover, MA ’95, Duluth, Minn., is an assistant professor of American Indian Studies at the University of Minnesota Duluth. She has been named the recipient of the Susan B. Anthony Institute’s 2011 Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize for promising new authors. The annual award was given for Linda’s debut short story collection, The Dance Boots.

Scott C. LaDean, Maple Grove, Minn., is a director of tax at Nilfisk- Advance, Inc.

Brian R. Petersen, Saint Paul, Minn., retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel on September 1, 2011. Brian is now a program manager in finance and logistics for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Richard Gonzalez Esq., Westbury, N.Y., has retired from his Lieutenant Commander position for the U.S. Coast Guard. Richard now works as an admiralty attorney for Rubin, Fiorella & Friedman LLP focusing practice in New York and New Jersey.

Ashley H. Moerke, Sault Sainte Marie, Mich., is currently a biology professor at Lake Superior State University. Ashley recently accepted LSSU’s Excellence in Advising Award.

Srikanto H. Paul, San Antonio, Texas, is a senior manager of environmental health and safety at St. Mary’s University.

Ryan R. Rohrbach, Spring Park, Minn., is currently employed by Rapala VMC Corporation as a controller.

Jayson C. Hron, Sartell, Minn., is a public relations specialist at Cetera Financial Group and is also a member of the Society for International Hockey Research. Jayson recently launched Historically Inclined, a historical research and writing blog.

Kimberly A. (Johnson) Parmeter, Duluth, Minn., works for the March of Dimes-Northland Division as the executive director.

Nicole L. (Gilles) Mantopoulos, Forestdale, Mass., is the owner of Fish Kisser Designs, an internet-based business offering hand-crafted invitations, announcements, and greeting cards.

Leeann M. (Akervik) Manning, Cold Spring, Ky., works as a national sales manager for KeySource Medical.

Brian L. Nordmann, San Diego, Calif., is currently an IT systems manager for the Cubic Corporation.

Damien R. Paulson, Duluth, Minn., has been named the new head coach of the Thunder Men’s Basketball Program by the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College.

Marc K. Morrison, Eden Prairie, Minn., works in retail as a co-manager at Sports Authority.

Alexandra E. Kotlarek, Minneapolis, Minn., appeared in her fourth Minneapolis Musical Theatre production, Bat Boy: The Musical, playing the role of Shelly Parker at the Illusion Theater.

Kecia B. Rehkamp, Minneapolis, Minn., has appeared in theatre productions at the Paul Bunyan Playhouse, Urban Samurai, Theatre Unbound, and most recently, the Illusion Theatre in a production of Bat Boy: The Musical. This is Kecia’s third Minneapolis Musical Theatre production.

Lucas Westerman, Chokio, Minn., received a commission into the U.S. Air Force after graduation via the UMD ROTC program. Lucas is currently a captain stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City where he flies on the E-3 Airborne Warning and Control Systems aircraft.

Jeremiah J. “JJ” Kelley, Minneapolis, Minn., is the director and star of the films Paddle to Seattle and Pedal to the Midnight Sun. J.J. appeared at the Big Water Film Festival on November 5 at Stagenorth in Washburn, Wis., where he presented his film Pedal to the Midnight Sun and showed clips from his upcoming film.

Daniel R. Lynch, Two Harbors, Minn., is a self-employed author. Since graduation, Daniel has researched, written, and published seven books about geological topics including field guides for collectors and hobbyists.

Lauren M. (Chuba) Greenley and Michael Greenley, BA ’10, both of Richfield, Minn., were married on June 11, 2011 in Richfield.

Bryan J. Koop, Minneapolis, Minn., is a graphic designer for the Carlson School of Management on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus.

Meghan M. Kuznia, Belle Plaine, Minn., graduated in 2011 from the UMD graduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders and is now working as a speech-language pathologist for Aegis Therapies.

Hailey A. (Edwards) Olson was married in August 2010 and now lives in New London, Minn.

Ravi Verma, Superior, Wis., is currently working as an IT Application Development Manager for Jack Links Beef Jerky.

Tian Lan, Kowloon, Hong Kong, received the highest student honor, the Student Award, from the London Business School before relocating from London to Hong Kong. Tian now works as an analyst in sales and trading at Morgan Stanley.

Callie S. Hidding, West Concord, Minn., is an intake representative for the University of Minnesota Physicians.

Katherine “Katie” R. Johnson, Burnsville, Minn., is currently working as an IT consultant and customer product representative for McKesson.

Laura J. Melde, Peoria, Ariz., is now a physical education teacher for the Glendale Elementary School District.

Bradley J. Nartowt, Gainesville, Fla., works for the University of Florida in the department of physics as a teaching assistant and is a Ph.D. aspirant.

Wendy R. (Hendrickson) Olson, Pequot Lakes, Minn., is currently a children’s mental health professional for Northern Pines Mental Health Center in Brainerd.

Leslie M. Quinn, Duluth, Minn., completed her internship with and is newly employed by the National Rural Health Resource Center as a program coordinator.
