Leta (Powell) Drake, Lincoln, Neb., is retired and was recently inducted into the Nebraska Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

1969

Colonel Kenneth B. Faulhaber, Liberty, Mo., has retired from the United States Air Force.

1970

George F. Wolff, MA ’82, Littleton, Colo., is a safety management consultant and trainer at Rule Engineering, LLC. He was selected as the Colorado Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers Safety Professional of the Year in 2008 and 2009.

Scott E. Fisher and Marjorie J. (Barnes) Fisher currently live in Duluth, Minn. Scott recently accepted a job as an investment and financial advisor representative for AdvisorNet Financial/ Network Investment Corporation. ril after 20 years as president of Anoka-Ramsey Community College in the Twin Cities.

1977

Larry R. Frank, Rocklin, Calif., works as owner and wealth mentor of Better Financial Education.  His third research paper was recently published in the national Journal of Financial Planning (June 2010). Also, his fourth research paper, “Sequence Risk: Managing Retiree Exposure to Sequence Risk through Probability of Failure Based Decision Rules” was accepted for presentation (Oct. 2010) at the Academy of Financial Services.

Patty L. Tolo, Minneapolis, Minn., recently accepted a position with The ALS Association, Minnesota Chapter, as the vice president of development.

Sheila K. Somin, St. Paul, Minn., is a spiritual care professional and counselor at the Hazelden treatment center.

1985

Kyle H. Krohn, Minnetonka, Minn., is a supervisor in photo equioto in Minneapolis.

Mark A. Kronforstand and his wife, Jean, live in Rockville, Md., with te.

Jon P. Dilley, Lakeville, Minn., works in sales at Medtronic.

1995

Susan M. (Schultz) Anderson, Minneapolis, Minn., works as a program budget director and analyst for Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. Her first child, Joseph Brian, was born in July, 2009.

1997

Brenda M. (Nelson) Podratz, Lino Lakes, Minn., is a benefits and compensation manager for Sebesta Blomberg & Associates, Inc.

1998

Jingsu Pu, and his wife, Dongbing, live in Millwood, N.Y.  Their son, Ethan, was born on July 18 and was welcomed to the family by his 5-year-old-brother, Henry. Jingsu recently joined MetLife as Vice President and Portfolio Manager.

1999

Thomas L. Karki, Robbinsdale, Minn., and his wife, Christine, starred in the off-Broadway musical, Evil Dead, at the Minneapolis Musical Theatre in downtown Minneapolis from October 22 to November 7.

2000

Jonathan M. Chaffee, Roseville, Minn., was recently hired by Alliance Bank as Assistant Vice President of Small Business Lending.

2001

Amy L. (Kitchell) Degerstrom recently rejoined the UMD family in a dual appointment as art history instructor and tour manager/volunteer coordinator at Glensheen estate. She lives in Duluth, Minn., with her husband, Sean.

John F. Bennett, Duluth, Minn., works as an extension educator in community economics for the University of Minnesota Extension Center for Community Vitality. John was recently named one of Duluth News Tribune’s “20 under 40”. .

Ellen E. Johnson, New Haven, Conn., is a clinical social work fellow at the Yale Child Study Center, where she began a year-long clinical social work fellowship in July with the School of Medicine at Yale University.


Garrett P. McConnach of Minnetonka, Minn., and Katrice (Tubbs) McConnach of Menomonie, Wis., were married on July 16. Garrett is a senior associate of government bond payments at the Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets.

. . . . . Ron Ostrom, Phoenix, Ariz., has established a website, World War II Geographics, featuring Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Pacific for educators, students, World War II buffs, veterans, and veteran organizations.

1952. . . . . Gerald I. Reponen ’52, along with his wife, Ruth (Sieger), live in Placerville, Calif. Gerald is a retired lieutenant colonel of the United States Air Force.

1962. . . . . Michael W. Fedo, Coon Rapids, Minn., has authored another book. A Sawdust Heart, My Vaudeville Life in Medicine and Tent Shows by Henry Wood as told by Michael Fedo, was recently published by the University of Minnesota Press.

1964. . . . . Howard A. Levine, Ames, Iowa, recently retired from his position as distinguished professor emeritus at Iowa State University. His son, Dr. Joseph Levine, joined the hematology-oncology staff at Essentia Health of Duluth in July, 2011.

1969. . . . . Jerrold A. Maki, San Francisco, Calif., is a hospital administrator and vice president of clinical services for Stanford Hospital and Clinics. Jerry was recently invited by the U.S. Department of Commerce to serve as a member of the 2011 Volunteer Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldridge Award. Clark C. Peterson, Hinckley, Minn., placed 61st worldwide in Writer’s Digest Magazine Feature Article Contest for his piece, “The Horrifying Rages of Fire” about the Great Hinckley Fire.

1970. . . . . Mary A. Ebert, Minneapolis, Minn., recently retired from her job as a college counselor. She is a new UMD Alumni board member.

1971. . . . . Kay McMahon was inducted into the Ladies Professional Golf Association Teaching & Club Professional (LPGA T&CP) Hall of Fame in 2010. She is director of golf instruction at eduKaytion Golf, a premier golf education company, and is a past national LPGA T&CP president.

1972. . . . . Paul D. Blomdahl, ’80 MA, Hermantown, Minn., has retired from his position as a teacher in the Hermantown school district.

1975. . . . . Russell G. Blixt, Bridger, Mont., is an English, journalism, and yearbook teacher for the Fromberg School.

1976. . . . . Dr. William C. Brown, Golden. Colo., owns his own medical practice and works as a plastic surgeon. William has completed over 30 volunteer plastic surgical trips to the underserved Arusha region of Tanzania in east Africa, providing over 2,000 operations primarily cleft lip and palate surgeries or burn surgeries.

1977. . . . . Brian K. Kolbilka, Palo Alto, Calif., was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2011. He is a professor in the Departments of Molecular and Cellular Physiology and Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford, Calif.

1978. . . . . Thomas A. Krause, Des Moines, Iowa, operates his own legal practice, Thomas A. Krause, PC.

Mark G. Ramsdell, Saint Cloud, Minn., was recently named to the executive committee of the Minnesota Trucking Association. He is a principal at LarsonAllen LLP in Saint Cloud and practices with trucking and construction clients.

1981. . . . . Keir R. Johnson, Duluth, Minn., is working as a retirement and estate planner at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

Jeffrey J. Peura, Laporte, Minn., is superintendent for International Falls Public Schools.

1981. . . . . Dave McMillan, Duluth, Minn., is the senior vice president of ALLETE and has been elected to the University of Minnesota Board of Regents.

1984. . . . . Michelle M. Grommesh, Concord, Calif., is a consumer underwriter for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.

1985. . . . . Amy L. (Thorsen) Martinez, Mission, Texas, is a singer, songwriter, and producer as well as a business owner. In her music career, she goes by the name of Amy Ames and is currently finishing her third CD titled I Miss Minnesota, as well as producing a reality show, titled Awesome Autism, which features her three children.

Laurie L. VanNurden, Buffalo, Minn., is a financial planner at Prudential Financial.

1986. . . . . Douglas P. Anderson, St. Paul, Minn., is the vice president of finance at Hamline University and was a finalist for the CFO of the year award by the Twin Cities Business News. Nancy L. (Rimert) Brook, Billings, Mont., is a vice president of marketing for the First Interstate Bank. Nancy has a new book, Cycling, Wine, and Men: A Midlife Tour de France. Philip O. Reed, Grand Rapids, Minn., received a certificate of ministries with the Assemblies of God World Missions in 2010. During the summer of 2010, his family moved to Krivoy Rog, Ukraine, to serve as missionaries.

1986. . . . . Skeeter R. Moore, Duluth, Minn., was named executive director of the North Shore Inline Marathon. Brett A. Rickaby, Van Nuys, Calif., works as an actor. He has appeared in television shows such as CSI: Miami and NCIS and films such as The Crazies. His most recent film, Bereavement, was released into theaters in 2010, and he will participate in several others this year.

1989. . . . . Scott R. Frank, Coon Rapids, Minn., works in building material sales as a millwork specialist at Home Depot.

Randy W. Gilbert, Long Lake, Minn., works as a consultant for Assurance Consulting.

Margaret J. (Kaim) Haggenmiller, Waconia, Minn., is the program coordinator of the University of Minnesota’s Simply Good Eating Program.

1993. . . . . Louis DeRienco, Newark, Del., is the communications manager for the Global Shipping Division of the United States Postal Service in Washington, D.C. Louis recently won the President’s Award for his efforts as chairman for his department in the Combined Federal Campaign Charity Drive.

1994. . . . . Mary J. (Lindstrom) Amundson, Burnsville, Minn., works for the State of Minnesota as director of central preadmission and clinical supervisor at Community Behavioral Health Hospitals.

Michael J. Barnes, Acworth, Ga., is currently employed by the Dow Chemical Company as a senior chemist working on polyurethane systems.

Michael R. Murray, Superior, Wis., is executive vice president at Reuben Johnson & Son, Inc.

1995. . . . . David W. Dahlen and his wife Carissa, Eagan, Minn., welcomed their first child, Shayne Elizabeth, on November 16, 2010.

Wade D. Kubat, Duluth, Minn., did his residency in general surgery in Philadelphia, Pa. He continued on to a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Wade is now a plastic surgeon at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

Christopher L. Mahowald, Prior Lake, Minn., is a CPA and partner at Meuwissen, Flygare, Kadrilik & Associates.

Nathan C. Otte, and his wife Barrie E. (Berquist) Otte live in Andover, Minn. Nathan started a new position in January at the Waters Corporation as a field service engineer.

Nikkole M. (Graupmann) Peterson, Lakeville, Minn., is a police officer for the City of St. Paul.

1996. . . . . David M. Haugen, Duluth, Minn., is a dentist at Piedmont Heights Dental Associates.

Angela J. (Simonsen) Helget, Minneapolis, Minn., took a position as a research chemist with 3M Pharmaceuticals after graduation. She spent a total of eight years working in the field of clinical research, before deciding to return to pharmacy school at the University of Minnesota.

Jake K. Powell, Duluth, Minn., attended medical school at the University of Minnesota after graduation from UMD. Jake is now a physician at St. Luke’s Hospital. He is married and has two daughters.

1997. . . . . Steven M. Berry, Duluth, Minn., attended graduate school in chemistry at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, followed by post-doctoral teaching and a research fellowship at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. He is currently an associate professor at UMD in the department of chemistry and biochemistry. Steven received the Swenson College of Science and Engineering Outstanding Young Teacher Award in 2010. He lives in Duluth with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children: Amelia, Anna, and Samuel.

Bonnie J. (Beall) Hanson, Saint Michael, Minn., attended graduate school at the University of Oregon and received a Ph.D. in biochemistry in 2001. Bonnie is now a senior staff scientist working in an R&D group in molecular and cellular biology for Left Technologies.

Jessica K. (Woodward) Lavan, Cloquet, Minn., received her doctorate from the University of Minnesota in 2001 after graduating from UMD. She has been a family medicine physician at Raiter Clinic since 2007.

1998. . . . . Fawn W. Atchison, Anchorage, Alaska, completed the medical scientists training program at Duke University Medical Center. She finished her residence training in anesthesiology and a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Fawn will be a practicing anesthesiologist in Minnesota this year.

Shauna L. Bahr, Plymouth, Minn., is a senior product standards coordinator at Target.

Greg E. Rue, Minneapolis, Minn., is working for the Arc Greater Twin Cities as the facilities and donation manager.

1999. . . . . Amy (Christopherson) Anderson, Lindstrom, Minn., graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School and is now a full spectrum family physician with the Fairview Clinic in Chisago Lakes. This year, Amy will be attending Fairview Leadership Academy. She is married and has two children, Sanna and Nolan.

Jaime A. (Melde) Gransee ’99, MS ’02, Saint Charles, Minn., recently celebrated her 10 year anniversary working for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester as a senior research technician. Jaime and her husband have two boys: Tyler and Connor.

Cary L. Scheiderer, Marathon, Wis., joined the U.S. Peace Corps and became an education sector volunteer in Burkina Faso, West Africa, following the completion of her Ph.D. in neurobiology in December 2004. Cary took a postdoctoral position in 2007 in the University of Alabama Birmingham’s community outreach development program. In 2009, she was selected for a slot in the highly competitive American Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology Policy Fellowship Program.

2000. . . . . Joseph A. Browning, Woodbury, Minn., graduated in 2004 from the University of Minnesota Medical School, followed by a residence in Internal Medicine at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and an additional year as chief resident. He pursued specialized training in cardiology with a fellowship at the University of Minnesota, served as chief fellow in the cardiology fellowship program, and graduated in June. He will continue on as a noninvasive cardiologist for Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He and his wife Rana have two children, Gavin and Peyton.

Melisa M. Cherney, Missoula, Mont., completed graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, department of chemistry and received her Ph.D. in 2007. In 2008, she started post-doctoral research at the University of Montana. Melisa began a position as assistant professor of biochemistry at the University of Northern Iowa in August 2010.

Duane D. Fansler, Dresser, Wis., works for 3M Company researching inorganic and polymer chemistry and has garnered 50 issued US patents, six publications, and several internal 3M awards during his 11 years with the company. He and his wife, Hannah, have three children.

Deborah A. Fix, New London, Conn., has worked for Pfizer and Amgen for the past 10 years and is currently working in their drug safety department as part of a biomarker group.

Julie C. (Klejeski) Lucas, Side Lake, Minn., graduated from the University of Minnesota water resources science graduate program in 2005 and is now working in the environmental field as an environmental scientist at Hibbing Taconite Company. Julie is working towards a graduate certificate in public relations. She married Matt Lucas in 2010.

Nicholas W. Mertz, Eden Prairie, Minn., is a project manager for Ryland Homes.

Mary K. Prudhomme, Duluth, Minn., is a vulnerable adult investigator and pre-petition screener for St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services department.

John Redmond, Rochester, Minn., completed medical school at the University of Minnesota in 2006 and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Mayo Clinic in June. John started practicing at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth this past summer. He has been married for 11 years and has three children.

Jesse C. Seegmiller, Rochester, Minn., graduated from medical school in 2004 from the University of Wyoming. He worked at the Mayo Clinic in the department of laboratory medicine for five years and is now working for a mass spectrometer company, AB SCIEX, where he specializes in clinical applications.

Terry W. J. Steele, Minneapolis, Minn., attended the University of Minnesota for medical school and graduated with his Ph.D. in 2006 in medicinal chemistry. He did post-doctorate work in Marburg, Germany, for two years before participating in a research fellowship as a project manager. He continued his research in Singapore. Jessica M. (Lager) Trompeter, Winchester, Va., attended pharmacy school after graduation from UMD and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and the Division of Physician Assistant Studies at Shenandoah University. Jessica and her husband, Aaron A. Trompeter ’98, have two sons.

Laurelyn E. (Keener) Turbes, Duluth, Minn., is an associate veterinarian and equine veterinary dentist at the Richard Bowman, DVM practice.

Jeffrey T. Wenngatz, Edina, Minn., is a corporate real estate advisor for the CresaPartners team in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. He also earned an MBA with a concentration in real estate from the University of Saint Thomas.

Rhonda L. (Goenner) Witzman, Duluth, Minn., is working as a CPA and Assurance Manager at McGladrey & Pullen, LLP.

2001. . . . . Sarah L. Elfering, Minneapolis, Minn., started a nephrology fellowship at the University of Minnesota after completing an internal medicine residency at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Ore.

Alexander J. Thompson, New York City, N.Y., works in pharmaceutical advertising. He has continued this career for 10 years and is now a senior vice president at NeOn, and manages the Johnson & Johnson business.

2002. . . . . Jacqueline A. Geissler, Minneapolis, Minn., attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed her orthopedic residency at the University of Minnesota. She plans to do a hand fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles until July 2012.

Philip J. Hommerding, Prior Lake, Minn., currently is a pharmacist for Walgreens.

Melissa A. (Berglund) Westervelt, Otsego, Minn., is an assistant county attorney and lawyer for the Isanti County Attorney’s Office. Melissa and her husband, Ryan, welcomed their first child, Wyatt Matthew, in January 2011.

2003. . . . . Katy J. Archer, Plymouth, Minn., works in financial services as a risk manager for Ameriprise Financial.

Melissa A. Frank, Hastings, Minn., was hired by Pace Analytical, an environmental design division of 3M, as a project manager. She is now a regulatory associate in the 3M Health Care Division. She also works with the FDA and Global Notified Bodies to obtain clearances and registrations of 3M medical products to sell worldwide. Melissa has three children: Michael, Faith, and Marcus.

Tammy J. Jobe, Burnsville, Minn., welcomed a new daughter, Lillian Suzanne Wiklund, in May 2010.

Nicholas A. McGrath, MS ’05, Middleton, Wis., went on to receive his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 2010. Nicholas is currently a post doctoral researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Megan S. (Nelson) McGregor, Tampa Bay, Fla., was married to Jason McGregor on March 26, 2011.

Kimberly L. Schoonover, attended medical school at the University of Minnesota. She is currently an internal medicine resident in Rochester, Minn., and began a fellowship in hospital medicine in July.

Nathaniel J. Traaseth, attended graduate school at the University of Minnesota’s department of chemistry and completed his Ph.D. in 2007. Nathaniel started as an assistant professor at New York University in the chemistry department in May 2011.

2004. . . . . Katherine D. Almendinger, Charleston, Mass., volunteered as a science and mathematics instructor for a rural secondary school in Ghana after graduation. She finished her master’s degree in epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health and was recently hired as a project manager at the Broad Institute in Cambridge.

Breanne M. DeFoe, Duluth, Minn., is marketing manager at Gizmoz Promotional Products.

Jacob R. Konerza and his wife, Lindsey M. (Buholz) Konerza live in Woodbury, Minn. Jacob has been working for the Target Corporation in Minneapolis since his graduation from UMD. Jacob recently finished his term as president of the UMD Alumni Board of Directors.

2005. . . . . Matthew P. Brichacek, Little Falls, Minn., attended graduate school in chemistry at Cornell University and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Illinois Urbana- Champaign. He and his wife are expecting twins.

Nathan J. Dahl, Erie, Pa., worked as a sales representative for Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals after graduation. He is in his final year of pharmacy school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Pharmacy and will continue on to a residency training specializing in oncology.

Jason P. Dauffenbach, Rochester, Minn., is a resident physician in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation wing of the Mayo Clinic.

Krista (Toumi) Grapski, Oakland, Calif., teaches life science and biology at Millsmont Secondary Academy.

Robert J. Linnemann, Portland, Ore., works as a musical composer and recently launched his first iPhone OS application called Sax Guide as a reference fingering guide for saxophone players.

Joshua R. Miskovich, Duluth, Minn., was honored by the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network with their 2011 Central Regional Platinum Leader Award. Joshua has been associated with the Northwestern Mutual office in Duluth since 2007.

Carrie L. (Nowling) Rippie, Buffalo, Minn., has been employed by Viromed Labcorp for five years.

Chris D. Strom, Chicago, Ill., works in investment management as a research analyst at Asset Management Investors.

2006. . . . . Charleen R. Balcer, Sioux Falls, S.D., recently completed medical school at Des Moines University. She is beginning the first year of her psychiatry residency at the University of South Dakota.

Katherine M. (Sanford) Carlin, Rochester, Minn., was married on May 14, 2011 to Jeremiah Carlin.

Cody T. Chamberlain, Eden Prairie, Minn., works as an analyst in information security at Medica Health Plans.

Henry A. Kostalik, Ithaca, N.Y., started graduate school at Cornell University for chemistry after graduating from UMD. He completed his Ph.D. in May and married Amanda, on July 23, 2011 in Duluth.

Alexandria E. Kotlarek, Minneapolis, Minn., was featured in the area premiere of a Broadway musical, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which debuted in June 2011 at the Minneapolis Musical Theatre.

Elissa L. (Buresh) Manwaring, Casper, Wyo., works for TIC The Industrial Company. She began as a field engineer and has been promoted to project engineer, and later took a job as a business development manager for the TIC Wyoming District.

Corwin D. Nelson, Mount Horeb, Wis., attended graduate school at Iowa State University and received his Ph.D. in biochemistry and immunobiology in 2010. He is now a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Corwin and his wife, Gwen, have three children: Kaelyn, Nolan, and Madilyn.

Kyle T. Nelson, MS ’08, Saint Paul, Minn., is currently in dental school at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Kyle received a U.S. Navy scholarship through the Health Professions Scholarship Program and will be a naval dentist upon graduation in 2010.

Margaret M. (Amdahl) Pruitt, Ames, Iowa, is attending graduate school at Iowa State University in the molecular, cellular, developmental biology program. Margaret and her husband, Spencer R. Pruitt ’06, had their first child, Benjamin Rian, on August 20, 2010.

Kecia B. Rehkamp, Minneapolis, Minn., was featured in the area premiere of a Broadway musical, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which debuted in June 2011 at the Minneapolis Musical Theatre.

Katherine F. Vertachnik, Seattle, Wash., works for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

2007. . . . . Rebekah M. Andrus, Saint Louis Park, Minn., works in health care as a credentialing specialist for Fairview Health Services.

Neil R. Brummond, Minneapolis, Minn., finished medical school at the University of Minnesota. Neil was married to Alissa Carrow on May 21, 2010 in Marshall, Minn.

Ryan G. Hadt, Mountain View, Calif., attended graduate school after UMD and is now the Gerhard Casper Stanford Graduate Fellow at Stanford University. Ryan is working towards his Ph.D. in chemistry.

Ashley A. Hubbell, Saint Paul, Minn., works for HealthPartners as a project coordinator for revenue improvement.

Kathleen J. (Thompson) Johnson, Little Canada, Minn., finished pharmacy school at the University of Minnesota.

Samantha L. Michaels, Saint Paul, Minn., works for Studio On Fire as a graphic designer. Samantha also serves on the board of directors as director of membership for AIGA Minnesota.

Kelsie L. Wagner, Mankato, Minn., is serving as a Transfer Liaison in the Admissions Office at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

2008. . . . . Clarissa J. Booth, Duluth, Minn., attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is currently in their Ph.D. program in molecular and environmental toxicology. She recently published a review paper with Dr. Joel Pedersen in the Journal of Environmental Quality and attended an Ecology of Soil Microorganisms conference in April in the Czech Republic.

Dana L. (Lundquist) Bottolfson is a Spanish teacher in the Harrison School District 2 of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Anna C. Moore, Waseca, Minn., is a quality specialist for the Owatonna Clinic, part of the Mayo Health System.

Merry D. Morud, Duluth, Minn., is an online marketing account manager at aimClear, a Duluth-based online marketing agency. Elise J. Mostad, International Falls, Minn., went on to receive her master of science degree in integrated biosciences from the University of Minnesota in 2010. She is currently living in Sydney, Australia on a 12 month work and holiday visa saving up money to travel to the rest of Australia and other places along the East Coast.

Emily B. Mueller, Minneapolis, Minn., is a case manager and health program representative for the Minnesota Department of Health.

Manuel E. Rivas, Duluth, Minn., is an online marketing account manager at aimClear, a Duluth-based online marketing agency.

2009. . . . . Christopher D. Barrett, Forest Lake, Minn., is currently attending medical school at Washington State University in the St. Louis School of Medicine.

Gina L. Bishop, Saint Michael, Minn., is a senior intake representative for University of Minnesota Physicians.

Elyse A. Dornhecker, Baudette, Minn., was honored by the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network with their 2011 Central Regional Bronze Leader Award. Elyse has been associated with the Northwestern Mutual office in Duluth since 2009.

Jacob W. Loesch, Minneapolis, Minn., was elected as the statewide executive director of the College Republicans, and in May earned a position as a member of the constitutional field staff for the Republican Party. As part of the field staff, Loesch worked on statewide campaigns for the Republican Party, including work for the Tom Emmer campaign for governor.

2010. . . . . Brandy R. Aman, Watertown, S.D., is a medical student at Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota.

Jesse E. Bandelin, Grand Rapids. Minn., works as a pharmacist at Walgreens.

Erik D. Carlson, Indian Hills, Colo., is working in the space industry for the United Launch Alliance as a mechanical engineer in the propulsion and ordnance group.

Noah A. Craft, Minneapolis, Minn., is a freelance lighting designer.

Sandra M. (Kimber) Davis, Carlton, Minn., is a school support worker in children’s mental health and family for Carlton County Public Health and Human Services.

Blake A. Dullinger, Duluth, Minn., is working as a home theater specialist at Best Buy.

Chase P. Gomez, Little Falls, Minn., joined the master’s of science chemistry program at UMD and is currently doing research with Dr. Lester Drewes.

Kimberly I. Halverson, Byron, Minn., works as a flight attendant. She also runs her own photography studio called ‘studiokh’.

Melanie A. Halverson, Byron, Minn., continued research with Dr. Berry after receiving her bachelor’s degree and is now pursuing her master’s degree in chemistry at UMD. Melanie also participated in the first annual Miss Minnesota Collegiate Pageant last October.

Ashley R. Hensel, Cameron, Wis., works for AmeriCorps as a site assistant at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Barron County.

Emily S. (Frey) Kalinowski, Duluth, Minn., was accepted to graduate school at UMD to obtain her master’s in chemistry and is currently a teaching assistant for Honors General Chemistry.

Sheila M. (Horner) Miller, Scanlon, Minn., is a chemical dependency counselor for the Fond du Lac Tagwii Outpatient Program.

Shane O’Brien, Eden Prairie, Minn., is a software development engineer for Beckman Coulter, a biomedical testing product manufacturer.

Danielle K. Schminkey, Forest Lake, Minn., is currently serving a one-year term with AmeriCorps VISTA on a program called RSVP.

Amanda J. Taylor, Sitka, Alaska, is an AmeriCorps volunteer serving as a case manager at Brave Heart, a nonprofit organization which handles educating health care professionals and caregivers about respite care.

Sarah J. Timm, Wadena, Minn., attends the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy. She currently volunteers at both the Phillips Neighborhood Clinic and at the Hosmer Library.
