Student Health Insurance
All degree-seeking students registered for six or more credits are required by the University to carry health insurance (see the University of Minnesota Duluth Catalog, 2009-2011, p. 5).
Already covered?
To ensure that you are not charged for the Student Health Benefit Plan, you must provide the following information when you register for classes:
- The name of your health insurance company or HMO,
- Telephone number of the company, and
- Your policy number.
If you do not have this information available at the time of registration, you can add it later through the following Web site: http://www.d.umn.edu/Register. You must enter this information each semester when you register. The deadline for updating this information each semester is the last day of the second week of class (dates listed below).
If you are under age 23 and unsure of the status of your health insurance, please discuss coverage with your parent(s).
You may make changes until the end of the open enrollment period.

No cancellation is permitted after open enrollment ends. At that point in time, health insurance identification cards will be mailed to students.
