Summer Term 2012

Welcome to Summer Term at the University of Minnesota Duluth!

Summer is an exciting time at UMD, and the campus remains a vibrant, active place. At the center of activity, is our Summer Term program, which encompasses two sessions: May Session and Summer Session.

During summer, you can focus on a tough course, make up a course that didn’t go so well, or take courses that will help you stay on track for graduation. Why take a course at UMD during the summer?

Students choose to enroll in summer classes for many reasons.

  • You can devote time to a course in a specialized area of interest
  • Make up a course that didn’t go so well during fall or spring semesters
  • Take a course that is only offered during summer
  • Stay on track for graduation, or even graduate early!
  • Learn something new in a relaxed atmosphere
  • Students from other colleges and universities can visit UMD during the summer

May Session: May 14--June 1, 2012

This session offers students an intense three-week period to explore a semester’s worth of coursework.

Summer Session: June 4--July 27, 2012

This session is divided into two sessions; two four-week sessions or one eight-week session.
