Benefit guidelinesYou will receive a stipend for personal use of $1,101 per month for 36 months (as of October 1, 2007), if you are a full-time student and completed an enlistment of three years or more. Benefit rates for part-time enrollment are reduced proportionately. Visit http://www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/rates.htm for complete information on current rates. Chapter 30 benefits do not affect your eligibility for federal subsidized loans. However, these benefits are included as income when your eligibility for campus-based aid (work-study, Federal Perkins, and matching grants) is determined. Benefits, generally, must be used within 10 years; however, the time limit may be shorter or longer in rare circumstances.
