Candidacy Application Instructions

BAc Candidacy Application

You can either print the forms out and fill them in by hand, or fill in the forms on screen and print them out. If you wish to save your entries on the worksheets, fill in the forms and then save them to a disk - your entries will be saved in the files.

  1. Complete the information on the reverse side, except for the area which says "for office use only."
  2. If you are a business student, please list your intended major and option (item #5). If you have not made a definite selection of major, please list which area(s) you are most seriously considering. This is very important for advisor assignment and for the way in which we assign computer codes to newly admitted candidates. (And, if you should happen to add another LSBE major or change your major, please let us know.)
  3. While minors are not required for the BBA or BAC degrees, many students choose to complete one. If you are selecting a minor, or a second major outside of LSBE, please work with the department which offers it. When you are accepted to the minor, we need to know; again, a proper computer code should be entered for you. This is important if you wish to receive official credit for the minor (or second major) on your transcript.
  4. Return your application to candidacy to the Student Affairs Office. We will then remove the hold.

ADMISSION TO CANDIDACY OCCURS DURING THE TERM IN WHICH YOU ARE REGISTERED FOR YOUR LAST LOWER-DIVISION COURSES, PROVIDED THAT YOU ARE IN GOOD ACADEMIC STANDING, AS DEFINED IN THE LSBE SECTION OF THE BULLETIN. IT IS THIS ADMISSION TO CANDIDACY, NOT THE APPLICATION, WHICH GIVES YOU ACCESS TO UPPER-DIVISION LSBE COURSES.

Questions are welcome; we wish to assist you in making progress toward your degree!
