To be admitted to the MBA program, applicants must present evidence of having
- Earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university
- Achieved satisfactory scores on the Graduate Management Admission
Test (GMAT)
OR
OR
- Earned a graduate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university/li>
- Have made satisfactory progress in completing the required foundation/prerequisite coursework

Students are admitted to begin classes
at the start off fall semester in early September or spring semester
in mid-January. A completed
application form, official transcripts
from all institutions attended, GMAT, a current resume or vita, and
other materials (e.g.; TOEFL
scores for international students, certification
verifications, etc.) must be received by July 15 for the September
start of fall semester
and by November 1 for the January start of
spring semester.
Generally, the criteria for admission to the UMD MBA program are:
- An overall or final two-year undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4-point scale)
- An overall GMAT score at the 50th percentile or above (approximately
530-540) and a score at the 25th percentile
or above on the verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing analysis
parts of the GMAT within
the past five years
- For international
students, a TOEFL score of at least
550 (paper exam) or 213 (computer exam)
Performance on these criteria, as well as the number of years of
full-time work experience, professional
goals, and completion of formal education
or training in foundation/prerequisite
areas are considered and balanced as part
of the admission decision. Strong credentials
in other areas may balance failure to meet
preferred levels in one specific area .
