Although the Accounting and Business Internships are different
(for example, the Accounting Internship Program is pass/fail and
permits variable credit based on the number of hours worked), many
of the requirements are similar.
Once a student has obtained an internship with a particular employer,
they prepare their own “Student Learning Objectives,” in
which they identify specific goals they want to accomplish during
the course of their internship. At the mid-point of their internships,
students write reports that examine their employer and its business
environment. At the end of the internship, they write a reflective
report describing how their experience met the learning objectives
they had identified and the educational benefits they received.
Finally, employers provide an evaluation of the student as an employee
and students have an opportunity to provide and evaluation of their
experience with the employer in the form of a worksite evaluation.
