The Labovitz School of Business and Economics incorporates a variety
of ways within its curriculum
to provide undergraduate students opportunities
to enhance their education through active
learning. Internships are a popular way for students
to acquire business-related experiences
in a structured learning environment. The purpose
of the experiential education program is
to provide junior and senior students a means
to apply skills and concepts learned in
the classroom to the day-to-day operation of
a selected business. It is more than a job;
it
is a course which offers the student individualized
experience through the study of a “real
world” employment situation.
Employers also benefit from having student interns work within their business
organization. Students bring to the work place new ideas and enthusiasm for tackling old
problems and new challenges. Employers have found that an internship program is one means
by which to evaluate potential future employees. It is easy for an employer to participate
in the LSBE Internship Program. All that is needed is a clear agreement regarding program
requirements and the type of experience being provided, and a line of communication between
the student’s site supervisor and the School.
Whether you are a student interested in possibly obtaining an internship,
or an employer seeking to fill such a position, please feel free to
contact either of us at any time. Our goal is to make LSBE’s
Internship Program valuable and rewarding for all parties involved.
