DIRECTORS' WELCOME INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS
INTERN EMPLOYERS INTERNSHIP IN ACCOUNTING

For students, theory and practice come together through numerous experiential “active” learning opportunities offered by the Labovitz School. One of the most popular forms of active learning within the School is the LSBE Internship Program.

The LSBE Internship Program enables students to gain added knowledge and skills through a structured work experience. Junior and Senior Accounting and Business students learn about resume writing, interviewing techniques, and job search strategies as they obtain an internship either through a coordinated on-campus recruiting process or direct placement.

The Objectives of the LSBE Internship Program are to:

• Enable students to learn more about the occupation of their choice through work experience.
• Assist students in recognizing the need for classroom instruction as it relates to their career goals.
• Allow students to work in actual job situations that cannot be duplicated in the classroom.
• Allow students the opportunity to develop a sense of responsibility required in the business world.
• Help students learn the value of personal qualities such as professional appearance, courtesy, integrity, diversity and concern for others with whom they are working.
• Familiarize students with experiences related to the process of seeking employment.
• Provide the college with valuable information about industry, establish professional contacts, and obtain advice from business leaders concerning curriculum planning, student recruitment, and graduate placement.
