Internship OpportunitiesSeveral students are hired each semester to assist in activities associated with the technology program. Currently, all positions for Fall 2005 have been filled. However, applications for Summer/Fall/Spring 2006 are being accepted. A work-study financial aid grant from the university is desirable, but not necessary. The ideal candidate will have good customer service orientation, be a self-starter, and be dependable. You will work with faculty and staff, and assist Technology Program Director in the maintenance of LSBE computer systems and the transportation of systems from the business school to ITSS Computer Maintenance facility (187 MWAH). Projects could include:
Curiosity and interest in technology is needed. Some knowledge of the basic applications used at UMD is desirable, e.g., Microsoft Word Operating Systems (2000 and XP) and Microsoft Office Products. Knowledge of any of the following is desirable, but not necessary: Dreamweaver (or other web authoring tool); Norton Anti-Virus; Adobe Acrobat; SPSS; Great Plains; MAC software; classroom equipment (projectors, VHS/DVD players, etc.), programming, and digital & video imaging.
