Technology in Business Schools Roundtable

There is a growing interest among technology leaders in business schools to share ideas, best practices and techniques with their colleagues throughout the USA and possibly the world. To address this need, the Technology in Business Schools Roundtable was formed. We are interested in growing the TBS Roundtable membership as long as there is mutual benefit to both the TBS Roundtable and the interested technology leader.

1. Mission

"To meet the unique information technology challenges faced by business schools, the Technology in Business Schools Roundtable will foster collaboration among business schools and colleges technology leadership."

2. Objectives

  • To improve the overall quality of our schools'/colleges' technology efforts.
  • To share best practices knowledge and experiences in an environment of trust.
  • To increase collaboration among technology leaders at peer institutions.

3. Benefits

  • Best Practices Knowledge:
    • Benchmarking (with peers)
    • Research and Development
    • Funding Technology Initiatives
    • Measurements and Continuous Improvement
    • Problem Reporting, Tracking, and Solving
    • Annual Survey results of technology in business schools practices (current approaches, organizational structure, etc.)
    • Literature/research review/sharing
    • Periodic discussion sessions via ITV or teleconference calls
  • Networking Opportunities
    • Establishing individual relationships with peers that could lead to joint research efforts, more cost-effective license agreements, and so forth.
  • On-going Communication / Networking
    • Sharing of ideas via a LISTSERV; e.g. how do you manage problems? On-line trouble ticket system? Web Site? What are your measurement criteria? (e.g., same day fix rate, time to resolution, etc.)
  • Developing a level of trust with colleagues that are outside your institution that you can work with to improve your technology program.
