The pinnacle of the Financial Markets Program is the management of the Investment Fund. Through the generous pledged contributions of Allete Corporation, U.S. Bancorp and the University of Minnesota Duluth, considerable funds have been designated for the launching of the "Bulldog Fund". Students of the Financial Markets Program are gaining invaluable experience striving to deliver excess returns for its investors through active analysis and investment recommendations. Students are working in small groups conducting research incorporating fundamental, technical, and quantitative analysis. After this, group present formal investment recommendations to an Investment Committee comprised of local financial professionals. The Investment Committee meets several times each year to review new recommendations and evaluate existing positions and strategies. Students are responsible for managing all aspects of the Investment Fund; Research, Investment Management, Administration and Client Services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, implementing investment recommendations, daily cash management, monthly performance attribution and reporting. It is the belief of the program that this unique opportunity gives students
competitive advantage over students in other business programs.
