Dean James Riehl

Welcome to the Swenson College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth!

Please explore these web pages to get a glimpse of the exciting opportunities there are in SCSE to get a hands-on world-class education in science or engineering. If you are a prospective student and choose to attend UMD, you will experience a dedicated faculty focused on the success of their students. Whether you are interested in discrete mathematics, cellular biology, structural engineering, or many other areas of modern science and engineering, you will probably find it in the Swenson College of Science and Engineering. And, if you have the opportunity to visit our campus, you will find a unique connected set of modern well-equipped buildings in one of the most clean and beautiful parts of the United States.

If you are an industrial or corporate representative and are visiting this website looking for student interns, cooperative arrangements, or other ways to establish a connection with your company and the Swenson College of Science and Engineering, please telephone or email me or Associate Dean, Penny Morton, (; or contact the appropriate department head for the majors in which you are interested.

Of course, if you are an SCSE alum, please let us know where you are and what you have accomplished since leaving UMD. And next time you are in Duluth, stop by and we will give you a personal tour of your alma mater.
