Dean's List

To qualify for the SCSE Dean's List you must have 12 graded credits, no F, N or I and be in the top 15% of the students enrolled in SCSE. Qualifying GPA's from the past 5 years:

Fall 2011 = 3.733
Spring 2011 = 3.692
Fall 2010 = 3.691
Spring 2010 = 3.688
Fall 2009 = 3.692
Spring 2009 = 3.667
Fall 2008 = 3.67
Spring 2008 = 3.583
Fall 2007 = 3.644
Spring 2007 = 3.5
Fall 2006 = 3.646

Honors Policy

The Swenson College of Science and Engineering has an Honors Policy that no more than 15% of the graduating class can graduate with honors. In SCSE there are three levels of honors within this limitation:

In addition, those receiving honors must have a coefficient of completion of at least 90%.

Grade point average and coefficient of completion are calculated on UMD coursework, calculated separately, and on total undergraduate work to include undergraduate work from other institutions. In order to be eligible for honors, at least 45 credits must be earned at UMD.
