Scholarships

There are several groups of scholarships available to students enrolled in the Swenson College of Science and Engineering: Campus Wide, College Wide Scholarships and Department Scholarships.


Applications are now being accepted for:

Solidarity Through Science-Summer 2015 Microbiology Study Abroad in Poland

● Eligible applicants: Enrolled SCSE students in good academic standing with a declared

major in biology, biochemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology, cell and molecular

biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, mathematics, physics, or

geological sciences.

● Application deadline: Applications may be submitted prior to acceptance into the

Microbiology Study Abroad in Poland Program. However, awards will only be credited

to an eligible student accepted and enrolled in the program. Application form and essay

are due by February 13, 2015. Link to PDF Application

 

Applications for College wide scholarships will be accepted on March 1, 2015 and will close on April 30, 2015. Look for the online College wide scholarship application on this webpage March 1st.

➢ UMD Milton H. Sax Pre-Medical Scholarship

➢ UMD William G. Emery Family Scholarship

➢ UMD William Kielczewski Memorial Scholarship

Engineering Scholarships will be accepted on March 1, 2015 and will close on

April 30, 2015. Look for the online Engineering scholarship application on this webpage March 1st.


Department Scholarships are awarded by each department and application procedures vary. Please contact the department directly.

Most Campus wide scholarships are awarded directly though the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. The application process includes: admission acceptance to the University of Minnesota Duluth, enrollment at UMD and filing for federal student aid (FAFSA). Completion of this process will include place you in the scholarship application pool.

Some Campus wide scholarships require additional application materials.
