The Office for Students in Transition

All new undergraduate students are required to pay a $80 orientation fee (sometimes called the Advisement & Registration fee or the confirmation fee) the first time they register for classes at UMD. The fee is due when students return their Advisement & Registration Reply form by mail or when students reserve an Advisement & Registration date online.

Receipt of the fee activates the student's academic record from an admitted status to active status, and begins the process of preparing the student's academic file for Advisement & Registration.

The fee is non-refundable; students who cancel their admission to UMD will not receive a refund.
