The Office for Students in Transition

When you come to Advisement & Registration, you will park in Lot A. Special parking arrangements have been made for Advisement & Registration guests to park in this lot. You will be required to display (on your dashboard) the gold "LOT A" parking permit that was sent in your confirmation packet. If you have lost your special permit, please plan to arrive at Lot A between 8:45 and 9:15 a.m. on your Advisement & Registration day; please look for the attendant at the entrance to the lot and ask for a replacement permit. UMD Parking Services does ticket cars that do not display the proper permit.

From I-35:

Follow I-35 North to the 21st Avenue East exit (#258). Follow 21st Avenue East to Woodland Avenue (top of the hill). Turn right onto Woodland Ave. Continue on Woodland Ave. to W. College Street. Turn left on W. College Street. UMD will be on your right. Turn right onto University Drive and park in Lot A which will be on your left. PLACE THE GOLD PARKING PERMIT ON YOUR DASH or get a replacement from the parking attendant. Follow the outdoor and indoor signs for the Advisement & Registration program in the Kirby Ballroom.

From Central Minnesota (Range Cities):

Follow Highway 53 (Miller Trunk Highway) to Arrowhead Road (stop light just past Menards). Turn left onto Arrowhead Road. Continue on Arrowhead Road to Kenwood Avenue (approximately 4 miles). Turn right on Kenwood Ave. Travel on Kenwood and turn left on W. College St. Soon UMD will be on your left. Turn left onto University Drive and park in Lot A which will be on your left. PLACE THE GOLD PARKING PERMIT ON YOUR DASH or get a replacement from the parking attendant. Follow the outdoor and indoor signs for the Advisement & Registration program in the Kirby Ballroom.

From Wisconsin via Superior:

Take Highway 53 to Duluth. Take the I-35 North exit and follow the "From I-35" directions above.

From Northern MN via Two Harbors:

Take Highway 61 to Duluth and turn right onto 21st Avenue East. Follow "From I-35" directions above starting with, "Follow 21st Ave East to Woodland Avenue (top of hill).

If you have an official handicapped parking permit, you can park in the designated handicapped spots in Lot A. The four hour limit will be waived if you place the gold pass on the dash of the car. If you have questions, please contact Advisment & Registration staff.

Prior arrangements with UMD police must be made for overnight parking on campus.
