Advisement & Registration for Spring Semester 2013

Advisement & Registration is a half-day program designed to provide new students with important information about UMD, review major and degree requirements, provide students with opportunities to meet other new students, offer advisement about course selection, learn about the online class schedule, and register for spring semester classes. The schedule of the day is listed below for new and transfer students. Events begin in the Kirby Rafters on the third floor of Kirby Student Center.

Students should choose to attend Advisement & Registration on a day when they can attend the entire program. Activities through the end of the day are a vital part of the program.

Please note that parents, friends and family members who accompany their students to Advisement & Registration will follow the Parent Program schedule. Parents stay with their students until 9:00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. depending on when the program begins; after that time there are special events for parents, friends and family members. The parent program includes presentations from health services, housing information and more. Information on the Parent Program at Advisement & Registration can be found here.

Student Timeline

As students are admitted, inviations to Advisement & Registration will be sent out to each individual student packed with all kinds of information critical for their individual day. All invites will be sent out on September 25th for students who have received acceptance letters prior to this day. Students will be asked to reply to their invitations and select one day out of November 12th and December 10th. All confirmation packets will be mailed out by October 8th for those students whose invites we have already received. All other confirmations will be mailed out as they are received.
