Advisement & Registration for Fall Semester 2013Advisement & Registration is a half-day program designed to provide new students with important information about UMD, review major and degree requirements, provide students with opportunities to meet other new students, offer advisement about course selection, learn about the online class schedule, and register for fall semester classes. Depending on your collegiate unit, you may be attending the morning or the afternoon session; a basic overview of the schedule is below. Please make note of the starting time when you sign up after receiving your invitation. Check in is located on the third floor of Kirby Student Center outside of the ballroom.Please note that parents, friends and family members who accompany their students to Advisement & Registration will follow the Parent Program schedule. Parents stay with their students for the first thirty minutes during the College Welcome; after that time there are special events for parents, friends and family members. The Parent Program includes presentations from Health Services, Housing, and more. Information on the Parent Program at Advisement & Registration can be found here. Student TimelineAs students are admitted, invitations to Advisement & Registration will be sent out to each individual student packed with all kinds of information critical for their individual day. All invites will be sent out in mid-February for students who have received acceptance letters prior. Students will be asked to reply to their invitations and select one college-specific day to attend. Advisement & Registration DatesNOTE: Invitations to Advisement & Registration were first mailed out February 11, 2013. We will be mailing out more invites as students are accepted. Each day will include the two separate programs except Thursday, May 23rd, which will include only a morning portion. The individual college that you have been accepted to may not offer a program every session. Please go to this link to see which collegiate unit is offering programs when.
