Fall 2015 Bulldog Transfer Welcome

As a new member of our community, we want you to be successful at UMD and to start off on an informed path.

This is why we require you to register and participate in one of our Bulldog Welcome Week programs.

Keep in mind; we have designed these orientation programs to address many of the issues, concerns and requests that we have received from your fellow transfer students over the years.

To help transfer students, we:

  • provide more than one option
  • allow incoming transfer students to participate in all of welcome week, as many of us are young transfer student
  • facilitate a program specifically designed for transfer students who have little time to spare

For orientation at UMD, you register for 1 of the options:

Option 1 (little spare time option)

Bulldog Transfer Welcome - August 28, 2015, 10:30am - 12:00 pm

  • Check-in begins at 10:00am outside the Kirby Ballroom

Mandatory 2 hour program geared to address meeting people, understanding your academic record, using UMD planning tools to move forward, finding a mentor (P2P mentoring program), and learning resources, logistics, and social options. A light breakfast will be served.

Parking is available free of charge in any Maroon parking lot. You will be ticketed if you park in Gold parking lots. Once inside UMD, signs will be posted directing you to the Kirby Ballroom.

Option 2 (I want to experience it all)

Bulldog Welcome Week - Tuesday, August 25 - August 29, 2015

  • Check-in begins at 8:30am on Tuesday, August 25th in the Kirby Ballroom

Students choosing to participate in Bulldog Welcome Week will be assigned to a transfer student Rock Group and are expected to participate in all mandatory events throughout the week. The deadline to opt-in to Bulldog Welcome Week is Monday, August 17th, 2015 at noon.

Parking is available free of charge in any Maroon parking lot. You will be ticketed if you park in Gold parking lots. Once inside UMD, signs will be posted directing you to the Kirby Ballroom.
