Top of the key with Yoni

About two articles ago I wrote about the 2007 NBA Draft and the future phenomeno Corey Brewer and the hopeless Joakim Noah.
Just to refresh your memory, Brewer went 7th in the draft and Noah went 9th. I bet you are wondering who went 1st.
Well, it was a freak of nature that bears the number 20 and the name of Greg Oden.
Oden, a 19-year-old, 7 footer who looks like an ancestor of Lebron James, went to Ohio State and straight dominated as a true freshman.
In the middle of the NCAA Basketball season, he suffered a broken right-hand and being right handed, this was a drastic injury.
Amazingly, he continued to start and shoot respectably with his left hand.
Although he wasn't the best in his freshman class (Kevin Durant of Texas murdered the game as a freshman), he still managed to be a first pick by leading his team to the 2006 national title and put up 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds during that game.
Everyone was looking forward to what this talented teenager could do in the big leagues.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait.
Due to a recent injury, Oden had arthroscopy and a microfracture surgery on Sept. 17, 2007.
I was totally looking forward to watching this potential rookie-of-the-year play for the Portland Trailblazers. revealing the No. 52 (Oden's) with pride.
Luckily, I am a firm believer that he will come back stronger and better than before. Oden, you will be missed this year, but we'll all float on.
