If only celebrities could have the abilities that their characters have in their movies. If that were the case, then maybe Sandra Bullock, whose recent movie is “Premonition,” and her husband Jesse James could have avoided a recent head-on car crash that occurred last Saturday, April 19. According to Perezhilton.com, Bullock and James were in Massachusetts on the set of Bullock’s latest movie.
The couple was out on the town when they were hit by a station wagon that crossed into their lane. The driver, 64-year-old Lucille Gatchell, had a blood alcohol level of .20, but luckily both vehicles were going under 20 mph, and no one was injured in the crash.
Hollywood couples can at times seem like the eighth wonder of the world. They’re together and apart so fast (Gerard Butler and Cameron Diaz), and sometimes they aren’t even an official couple, despite acting like one (Chris Brown and Rihanna). Nevertheless, the man that made girls swoon in “The Notebook,” Ryan Gosling, was spotted blatantly making out in public with recent rehabber Kirsten Dunst. When celebrities who are rarely in the public eye, like Gosling, finally make an appearance around the time one of their projects comes out, it is highly suspicious.
Coincidence or not, Gosling’s critically acclaimed new movie “Lars and the Real Girl” came out on DVD last week. In other couple news, Kanye West and his fiancee Alexis Phifer have called off their engagement. In a statement Phifer, a clothing designer, made to People.com, she stated that she and West remain friends but are in fact broken up. Things aren’t totally bleak for West these days though, as his much-anticipated Glow-in-the-Dark Tour opened recently to rave reviews, according to Entertainment Weekly.
In absurd celebrity paycheck news, Madonna is in negotiations to play two concerts in Dubai for a record breaking $25 million. According to MTV, that roughly breaks down to $165,000 a minute for her time. While Madonna is known for her charitable contributions and is bound to do a good deed or two with the money, is anyone’s time really worth that much money? I’ll just let you ponder that while you finish your 33 cents ramen noodles.
While the writer’s strike has been officially over for more than two months, some of our favorite shows are just making it back to the airwaves. Finally, “Grey’s Anatomy” fans can celebrate the return of their beloved show with a new episode Thursday, April 24 at 8 p.m. Don’t forget to tune in for the return of “Ugly Betty” as well, as it airs right before “Grey’s Anatomy” on ABC.
