Over the weekend, university police issued 18 underage consumption tickets, in which one 19-year-old UMD student was sent to detox. Sergeant Sean Huls said that around 3 a.m. Sunday morning one of the RA’s from Lake Superior Hall (LSH) called their head quaters. “There was a male found lying in the hall on the second floor of LSH,” Huls said. “He was extremely intoxicated and when he woke up he had ‘no idea where he was or how he got there.’ ”
Huls said university officers administered a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) on the suspect and he blew a .31. “He was arrested for underage consumption and then sent to detox,” Huls said.
Huls also wanted to note that over $50,000 worth of copper was stolen from the construction site at Chester Park School off of Woodland Avenue and College Street. “This included new copper pipes and filling,” Huls said. “If anyone noticed suspicious activity in that area, please contact us.”
