Mall.
Students may find shopping a little easier as Miller Hill Mall prepares for the opening of two major retailers while expanding some others. Miller Hill Mall has already welcomed
several new retailers in the past couple months as well as expanded and re-modeled some existing stores. Along with some expansions, the mall is preparing for the new retailers
Charlotte Russe and Hollister in the near future. Currently, Charlotte Russe, a store whose focus is generally aimed towards the fashion needs of young women, is nearing the end of its construction.
Charlotte Russe has 440 stores throughout the nation and is said to be open for business on March 27, according to the press release. Third-year student Jonelle Echert was pleased to hear about Charlotte Russe’s arrival. “I don’t go to the mall very much, because I’m broke,” said Echert. “I haven’t bought a new shirt in a long time, but maybe I’ll go more. I like it (Charlotte Russe).”
Additionally, Hollister is finally making its way to Duluth. Hollister is anticipated to be open sometime in July, according to the press release. Freshman Millie Haapala is very excited to hear about Charlotte Russe and Hollister coming to the mall. “That would be wonderful,” said Haapala. “I shop at both so it would be a wonderful addition.” With having no vehicle at school, Haapala said she only makes it to the mall about once a month, or sometimes less; however, after finding out about these new additions, Haapala said she might make a trip to the mall a little more.
Victoria’s Secret is also taking on a new look. For now, Victoria’s Secret is located between Pam’s Hallmark and Regis, but only until the expansion is finished. According to employee Dani Patten, Victoria’s Secret will be taking over Wilson’s Leather to expand their store. “All of our other stores were expanding,” said Patten. “We’re also one of the top-selling stores in Duluth.”
According to Patten, Victoria’s Secret will be adding make-up, more fragrances and an intimacy line. Hot Topic is also in the process of building a new store, according to the Miller Hill Mall press release. Employees of the store were unable to comment about these changes under orders from their district manager.
