2008 Woodie Awards
For students of geography who sat through Olaf Kuhlke's Human Geography class on Friday, Nov. 12, they just might have an answer over the holidays for family members asking what they plan to do with their major. The class celebrated Geography Awareness Week with a panel discussion of recent geography graduates who told the class exactly what it is they do.
The clicking of boots and shredding of snow echoes over Spirit Mountain once again, as the skiing and snowboarding area opened on Saturday Nov. 22nd, one week earlier than expected.
When it opened last April, the mission of Dragon Port Games and Comics in Downtown Duluth was to create and maintain a Twin Ports gaming community. So far, with the words of instruction, humor and advice from staff and regulars, it's already started to accomplish this.
As most students probably know, UMD is an alcohol-free campus. What they may not know is that just up the hill, alcohol is allowed at the College of St. Scholastica.
