UMD tennis split two matches played last weekend versus Truman State University (TSU) and Winona State University (WSU) in Winona, Minn. The Bulldogs fell to TSU 7-2, with the No. 1 doubles and No. 6 singles coming away with the only victories, according to the UMD Web site. Freshman Rose Phippen and sophomore Brynne Wischer teamed up to defeat TSU’s No. 1 doubles team. Junior Kelly Rosengren was the lone victor in singles play.

UMD retaliated versus WSU, winning 7-2. This match was a mirror image of the previous one, as the only losses came at the No. 1 doubles and No. 6 singles. Phippen and Wischer won their singles match-ups, along with junior Stephanie Keller, sophomore Kayelyn Johnson and freshman Carrie Dahlman.

The Bulldogs will finish regular season play this weekend with matches against Minnesota State University-Mankato, the University of Nebraska-Omaha and the University of North Dakota in Mankato, Minn.
