The UMD men’s basketball team has two representatives on the 2007-2008 All-North Central Conference (NCC) team this year. Senior guard Jordan Nuness and junior forward Bryan Sykora were announced as members of the 11-player team by the NCC on Tuesday, March 11, according to the UMD Web site.
Nuness, a native of Eden Prarie, was the Bulldogs’ leader in scoring with 17.8 points-per-game. He was also the NCC leader in 3-point shots made with 43 in 12 conference games, according to the Web site. After spending one year at the University of Minnesota, Nuness transferred to UMD and has consistantly performed at a high level. He ends his career at No. 22 on the UMD career scoring list with 1,231 points after only three years with the team, according to the Web site.
Sykora, a Bloomington native, finished the season with nine double-doubles and eight games with at least 20 points, according to the Web site. He also led the Bulldogs in rebounding with 8.4 rebounds-per-game, according to the Web site.
Both Sykora and Nuness are first-time selections to the All-NCC team.
