Twenty—one track members earn NCC academic honors

Thursday, March 13, 2008Apply The UMD men’s and women’s track teams are well represented on the NCC Academic Indoor Track & Field Honor Roll. Thirteen men and eight women from the Bulldog track teams were named to the 129-student list. Earning the honor for the men’s team are sophomores Jordan Bjorhus, Tyler Bjorhus, Timothy Cyr, Seth Urtel, Zachary Varty and Brandon Wood. Eric Atkinson, Daniel Jago, Matthew Kleffman and Chris Parno were all named as juniors and Jared Clementson, Peter Klopp and Zachary Schmidt were the seniors on the list, according to the UMD Web site.
From the women’s team sophomores Katherine Ballandby and Jodi DeGrote along with juniors Justina Froelich, Kristen Haak and Leah Kiley were named. Three seniors, Julie Johnston, Erin Rankin and Maria Swanson, were also named to the honor roll, according to the Web site. Student-athletes must have a 3.20 GPA to qualify.
