Look no further! The Office of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution is now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 Student Hearing Panel.

The central mission of the Student Hearing Panel is to uphold the Student Conduct Code in a manner that is centered on student learning, grounded in, fairness, and due process, and focused on balancing the interests of the individual with those of the campus community at large.

Students are vital to supporting and sustaining the quality and effectiveness of the student conduct process. The Student Hearing Panel serves as the body that hears student cases at the second level of student conduct resolution process. The duty of the student hearing panel is to uphold the Board of Regents Student Conduct Code through a fair and educational conduct process.

Benefits:

  • Gain marketable experience relevant to fields including but not limited to criminology, education, public health, psychology, law, politics, social-work, and business
  • Build new connections with faculty, staff, and students serving on the panel
  • Become an advocate for students as well as an inclusive, healthy and safe campus community

Requirements:

  • Attend a 3-hour in-person training session, scheduled in late September, based on common availability of the group
  • Serve as a panelist (panels are comprised of three people -- faculty, staff, and students)
  • Participate in follow- up training once a month
