Student Life + You: Partners in Student Success

UMD student

Greetings! Staff from UMD Student Life are the hosts for the parent and family portion of the Orientation program. To best meet the specific needs of students and parents, separate programs have been designed. Students receive academic advising, register for classes, and obtain their U Card (University identification card). For parents, the morning program will focus on financial aid and housing, as we recognize these are two topics which generate many questions. The afternoon break-out sessions are designed so parents may select the topics most relevant for their family. Time is built in to the schedule for parents and family members to familiarize themselves with the campus and complete or turn in any outstanding paperwork.

The sample schedule for the parent/family program from summer 2017 follows. Towards the bottom of the page, you'll find helpful arrival notes. This page will be updated as plans are finalized for future parent/family orientation programs.
